People are Tired

People are Tired

People are tired. Have you noticed?

Almost everywhere you go you see tired people. Sometimes you hear them say it. Sometimes you see it in their eyes. Sometimes they have reasons and can verbalize why they are tired. Sometimes all they can say is, "I'm tired."

People at work are tired. Tired of long hours, high pressure, and feeling unfulfilled. Tired of being told to produce more with less help and with a smaller budget.

People on vacation are tired. Tired from the travel to get to the vacation spot. Tired of trying to make sure that they squeeze everything possible into everyday of the vacation. When they get back home they need a vacation to recover from the vacation.

Students are tired. Parents of students are tired. Projects are due. Papers are due. Everyday there are after school activities. Sports. Pressure to make the grade to get the scholarships to get into the college to get the job to make the salary to build the life to fulfill the dream.

People in churches are tired. Tired of empty religion. Tired of shallow teaching. Tired of sitting in pews. Tired of being in bondage. Tired of meaningless traditions. Tired of not being challenged to life the life of a true follower of Jesus.

People are tired, and our Creator has always known that people would be tired. Because He understood that His creation would be tired would get tired He make provision for it.

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (Exodus 20:8-11, NIV) "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:20-31, NIV)

"I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint." (Jeremiah 31:25, NIV)

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)

People are tired. God understands. God has a solution. As His people we should listen to the One who created us.
